Timeframe Shifts, but Vision Stands Strong 

Ndiphiwe completed matric last year with dreams of studying medicine, but things didn’t go according to plan, and he was not accepted at any of his chosen universities. While he has dusted himself off and started an IT course in a local college, his heart still longs for medicine, and with the support of his mom, his Video Mentor Danny, and Infinite Family bhuti (‘brother’) Zinzo Tebe, he’s made a choice to find a new way to keep that dream alive. Alex Goes Dark

On 23 June 2026, a transformer exploded in Alexandra township, Johannesburg, and - just like that - an entire section of the community was plunged into darkness. Among the affected is the Realogile site, home to one of our LaunchPads, where Net Buddies and Video Mentors have their weekly video conversations (VCs), learn, and build relationships that matter.

For those outside the community, an extended power outage might sound like a temporary hardship. For families living through it, the consequences run much deeper and touch nearly every part of daily life. Read what's different this time.
