Our Net Buddies Did It Again!

South Africa’s annual matric results are in. “Aaaaaaannd?” you ask, “BTW, what’s a matric?” In short, it’s a terrifying few weeks of exams at the end of 12^th grade that determines whether a student may continue their studies in college and learn the knowledge and skills that lead to a good job -- or they are destined to toil in back-breaking labor for the rest of their lives with low pay and even less control. 2020 included the added stress of missing more than a full term of classroom teaching due to the pandemic. Waiting for results in a normal year, it’s not just our Net Buddies who are holding their breath and crossing their fingers. Hundreds of their Video Mentors and our Infinite Family around the world are doing the same for moral support. 

The Infinite Family Team always has more ideas about ways we want to strengthen South Africa’s teens.  This year will be especially exciting because @GlobalGiving is giving us an early start thanks to a surprise $20,000/R300,000 donation. This unexpected generosity was delivered “to support your organization’s relief efforts in response to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.” No strings attached recognition from their global community to our global Infinite Family. This definitely beats chocolates and flowers in our book!

GlobalGiving’s March Little by Little matching campaign is just around the corner – March 8-12 to be exact.  Powered by a talented volunteer team of Ericsson  Marketing and PR specialists, we’re setting our sights high this year. The Ericsson team wants to prove that there is a way for everyone to help create a more equitable world and that lots of little actions create big, life-changing opportunities for Infinite Family’s Net Buddies. We couldn’t agree more and are very excited to offer them the lead in our upcoming campaign. These young professionals have incredible passion and great ideas for the world they wish to help create. Infinite Family is honored to be part of their plan!
