Wealth of Visitors

Infinite Family started the season of gratitude with many reasons to be thankful, including two incredible days of meaningful visits. For the first time, a U.S. Ambassador visited Alexandra Township!  Ambassador Reuben Brigety, III and the U.S. Embassy South Africa Team spent an afternoon at our LaunchPad sharing stories and lessons learned with a group of Net Blazer alums. The Ambassador was especially keen to hear how our Net Blazers navigated their paths from township to tertiary and beyond. "He made me feel important when talking to me, he was engaged and interested to hear my story," Christina told us afterward.

On another afternoon the same week, the very accomplished and distinguished Dr. Reuel Khoza and cyber-security expert Lindi Simelane sparked interesting conversations about the increasing roles for technology in every field, from avocado farming to finance. Our Net Buddies, Blazers and Fundis were all honored and amazed that their experiences and thoughts were of such interest to such esteemed visitors and will be sharing stories of these visits with friends and family throughout the holidays. In addition, instead of visions of sugarplums, they now have many new potential careers dancing in their heads. Great thanks to all of our visitors for making the time to share your experience and becoming part of our Infinite Family.

December Double Match is Back!

While we all take a few weeks to celebrate this year, we know that next year, all of our Net Buddies will still be fighting an uphill battle. They will struggle to study because power outages, called loadshedding, are getting worse and worse. Unemployment is at its highest level in decades, preventing many of our alums from attending college and university. They must stay close to home in order to help support their families.

Just as they will be providing support, Infinite Family will be there to support our Net Buddies and Net Blazers to start the New Year on the right foot. To help our teens stay on track, Infinite Family Director, Kevin Travis is offering the December Double Match to amplify all first-time and extra gifts with a $1 for $1/R1 for R1 match during this Festive Season:

$5 becomes $10

R10 becomes R20

$25 becomes $50

R100 will be doubled to R200

and on and on!

No amount is too big or too small. You may even choose to split your donation into small monthly or quarterly payments – all sustaining gifts will be matched for the first full year!

When you reflect on your final philanthropic gifts for the year, please consider a gift to Infinite Family and double your impact for our African teens.
