Learning to Manage Weekly Performance Expectations Leads to School Success

We are usually the first organization to bring computer labs to our local schools and community partners, as well as, the first to ignite Internet learning opportunities for local teens. Sadly, we are also often the first adults in our Net Buddy mentees’ lives that expect them to achieve more than a 50% “Adequate Achievement” level on any task or activity.

So, Infinite Family’s Net Buddy Mentee Monthly Performance Reporting system is quite an adjustment for our Net Buddies to get used to. But they do. Our most recent analysis of 2018 and the first nine (9) months of 2019 shows that 59% of time our Net Buddies achieved Meritorious or Outstanding on our performance expectations that measure their progress in work and life skill development.

Believe it or not, South African students pass their 12th grade exams at the highest qualification with a combination of 50%, 40% and 30% marks!

Infinite Family Net Buddy mentees perform better in high school than their non-mentored peers. Their educators confirm that they are not necessarily smarter than everyone else – they just work harder!

Sustainable Development Goals

Infinite Family Supports SDGs and NDP 2030

Video mentoring directly supports two of South Africa’s imperatives by focusing on increasing the capabilities of its teens and young adults.

In 2015 the United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with the call to action by all countries of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Infinite Family’s work supports three of these SDGs. In addition, South Africa has adopted the National Development Plan 2030 to eliminate poverty and reduce inequality by 2030.
