Dear Net Buddies and Blazers,

Getting used to the ‘new normal’ doesn’t mean we let rumor mongers or gossip gadflies define what we believe or how we act – not everything has changed.

Just to confirm what we should and should not believe – let’s go back a worldwide trusted source that bases its decisions on science, the WHO (World Health Organization). Here is their current list of FACTS designed to burst widely circulating rumors. Please be a responsible source of good information – share what you know and help others avoid making bad decisions too.

FACT: People should NOT wear masks while exercising.

FACT: The likelihood of shoes spreading COVID-19 is very low.

FACT: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is caused by a virus, NOT by bacteria.

FACT: The prolonged use of medical masks* when properly worn, DOES NOT cause CO2 intoxication nor oxygen deficiency.

FACT: Most people who get COVID-19 recover from it.

FACT: Drinking alcohol does not protect you against COVID-19 and can be dangerous.

FACT: Thermal scanners CANNOT detect COVID-19.

FACT: Adding pepper to your soup or other meals DOES NOT prevent or cure COVID-19.

FACT: COVID-19 is NOT transmitted through houseflies.
